DIY herbal bath ‘tea’ soak

Another DIY inspired by something I saw online. I immediately fell in love. It’s such a gorgeous idea and so incredibly simple. Can you just imagine relaxing in the bath after a long day with one of these soaking and perfuming the water?

The options are literally endless and all you need as some really good dried flowers and the essential oil of your choice. Not to mention, you make the teabag once and it doubles as an exfoliating glove, which you can use with or without the flowers and herbs inside.

This is definitely one to include in your DIY gift arsenal!!

You’ll need:
mixed dried flowers (I used chamomile, calendula, rose petals, lavender buds, jasmine flowers and hibiscus flowers)
lavender essential oil
22cm x 30cm rectangle of pudding cloth or cheese cloth
mason jar
cooking twine

To make the cloth teabag, cut your pudding cloth or cheese cloth to the right size. Make a 1.5cm hem, pin and sew closed. This is where you’ll thread the cooking twine through. Sew up the remaining sides and then turn the bag inside out to hide the seams.

Thread the cooking twine through your hem. I use a safety pin at the end to make it easier to thread it through.

Bag done, make the herbal tea by mixing equal portion of each flower in the mason jar. Add 8-10 drops of lavender essential oil, put on the lid and give it a little shake. Fold your bag and place it on top.

If you’re giving it as a gift, you can create your own label or add a gift tag! Happy 2016!
