This week’s love list is all about beauty products that don’t cost the earth. I love gorgeously packed and wrapped soaps and shampoos that smell more exciting than plain old rose or lavender, but I can’t really justify €10 for a bar of soap. So I was over the moon when I discovered that H&M actually have a line of eco friendly body products that are really reasonably priced and sound delicious. I had a snoop around to find who else did the same and voila!
NO.1 Oh, Inspector Montalbano: LUSH is an English brand of handmade and entirely eco friendly products. This nod to an Italian literary and television detective is actually a shampoo bar with Sicilian lemon, olive and rosemary. Yum! It costs €9 for 55g.
NO.2 as smooth as leather: Zara Home can always be depended on to make the luxurious affordable. I have no idea what Nordic leather smells like, but I’m intrigued. This bar of soap costs €4.
NO.3 a hint of spring: The priciest of the bunch, but also the most beautiful. L’Occitane is my dream home. I actually want to live in one of their stores – they’re so pretty. This jasmine and bergamot body wash isn’t too pricey at €15.
NO.4 tea break: H&M has won we over with their eco-friendly line. My first must-have, this white tea and peppermint hand wash. Even the bottle is pretty! €7
NO.5 oil me up!: I hate moisturisers, so I’ve recently decided to try my luck with oils instead. This multi use one from H&M has rosemary, sunflower and jojoba oils and is great for hair, skin and nails. €10.
