My first love list for the new year. I’m dedicating it to the biggest upcoming design trends. Whether you love them or hate them, they’re going to be everywhere, so at least try to be cordial 🙂
I have another week in Australia. I’m trying desperately to get as much sun as possible before I return to glacial Europe and the busy working world.
no.1 – chuffed about my cushion: I’m terribly self promotional, but I designed this black and white cross cushion because I knew it was coming into fashion and I love it!
no.2 – geometrics: I don’t know if geometrics ever actually go out of style. I find too many can make a space look like a doctor’s office, but this rug from H&M is good middle ground and I like the fact that it’s green instead of your standard black and white. It’s €40.
no.3 – shine bright: Metallics and anything gold plated was already starting to take hold last year, so it’s no surprise that this is on the list. It’s for statement pieces only. Something like this stool from Zara Home would look great in a room with otherwise soft fabrics and wooden furniture. It’s €50.
no. 4 – dip and dive in: I’m obsessed with this trend and already working on a few projects with it. It can be pulled off in two ways – either through tie dying for a more organic look or dip dying for a straight and modern line like this bowl from Crate and Barrel.
no.5 – fields of florals: The one to watch out. It will be in everything from clothes to wallpaper. I’m not crazy for florals. They’re too romantic for me. But I could warm to these leggings from Anthropologie.
