Gli amori: Wk 40

A whirlwind tour of Florence, DIY birthday cards and plenty of rain. Yes, it’s the end of another week and we can’t deny that autumn has arrived in Southern Tuscany. This week has lived up to the adage ‘when it rains, it pours’… literally. Well, at least I don’t have to water my plants anymore. A couple of days ago, I accidentally left the sprinklers on all night and have been feeling guilty about wasting water ever since!

I hope you have something gorgeous planned for this weekend, preferably inside if it’s raining in your neck of the woods too. Honestly, this is the perfect weather for internet shopping!

no.1 – DIY hooray: Days have passed, but I’m still excited about my DIY confetti birthday card. I gave one to my mother-in-law and she thought I’d bought it, which is the ultimate compliment. Make your own here.

no.2 – rain is welcome: Hate the rain, hate the cold weather, but love porcini mushrooms and after this deluge, I’m pretty sure I’ll find a few of these bad boys in the forests around my house!

no.3 – beautiful bakeware: Winter is coming and beyond Game of Thrones references, I have plenty of delicious casseroles planned. You can’t have too much earthenware bakeware, especially when it comes in such a lovely colour. This one’s from Crate & Barrel and starts at €20.

no.4 – tea for one: I absolutely hate when you make yourself a tea and then something distracts you and by the time you get back to your lovely mug, the contents are stone cold. So this contraption is definitely on my wish list. It’s by a Finnish brand called Norm and comes in two pieces – the gorgeous glass tea kettle is €65 and the tiny little candle warming platform is €35. I think the entire thing isn’t just practical, but also very pretty. Imagine the atmosphere it would create!

no.5 – steer clear: I’m not a big jewellery wearer, but these geometrical earrings from Zara are only €13 and would make such a statement, plus they double as a weapon in a pinch if you need to jab someone in the thigh.
